Welcoming Spring: A Time to Reconnect and Reset

As we approach the Spring Equinox on March 20, we arrive at a natural turning point. Day and night come into balance, the light begins to linger a little longer, and the earth quietly prepares for new growth.

After the heaviness of winter, this seasonal shift often brings a subtle nudge — a sense that it’s time to clear, refresh, and begin again.

In Ayurveda, late winter and early spring are associated with Kapha, the energy of earth and water. These elements can feel steady and grounding, but in excess they may show up as sluggishness, congestion, or mental fog.

You might notice it as low motivation or difficulty getting started on something new. Just as the soil can feel dense and heavy before the first sprouts appear, we too can feel weighed down before renewal begins.

Spring invites gentle activation. A brisk walk in the cool morning air, a few flowing yoga movements, deeper breathing, or even opening the windows to let fresh air circulate can help shift stagnant energy.

Small actions begin to create momentum.

If you’re feeling called to mark this seasonal change with intention, I’ll be hosting a Spring Equinox Mini Retreat on Saturday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Willow Falls in Denton.

This half-day experience is designed to help you reconnect, renew, and reset through gentle and flowing yoga, guided meditation, seasonal reflection, and a simple seed-planting ritual to symbolize personal growth.

Spring reminds us that change happens steadily and naturally. Sometimes all we need is space to pause, reflect, and take the first small step forward.
