Energy Healing
We are all familiar with the word "energy" but what does it really mean? Science says energy is used to describe how much potential a physical system has to change. In physics, energy is a property of matter and space, objects and fields. It can be transferred between objects and can also be converted in form.
Energy Healing, therefore, is the process of balancing and harmonizing the subtle energy of the body.Energy healing is a branch of alternative medicine based on the belief that healers can channel healing energy into a patient and effect positive results. Think of yourself like a battery- energy healing work is what allows your battery to recharge. It is a simple, natural and safe method of energy healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. There are several modalities for working with our energy.
Benefits
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness."
What's Included
Energy Healing sessions can be done in person or through distant-healing. The main goal is to provide relaxation and stress reduction. Dis-ease is a response to the physical, spiritual, and or/or emotional challenges we face. Clients are provided with an environment in which healing can occur. Sessions are intended to improved well-being but it is ultimately up to each individual to heal themselves.
The energy healing work may be done with the hands of the practitioner either touching the body or working over the body within the energetic biofield. No clothing is removed. In addition, crystals, chakra work and aromatherapy can be incorporated into the session. Energy Work does not diagnose or treat physical and/or emotional dis-ease. It is not a substitute for any current or future care provided by either a medical provider or therapist. However, it can complement any care you are currently receiving.

There are many styles of energy healing. I have studied and practice Reiki and Huna.
Reiki
(pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
"The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
(pronouced hoo-nah) is the name of the teachings of the ancient Hawaiian people. In Hawai'i, the teaching of Huna was originally called Ho'omana (to make "Mana", or life force energy).
Many believe that at one time there was just one teaching, and that all peoples of the Earth lived by that one teaching. As time progressed, different peoples deviated from that teaching, and created the wide variety of beliefs and doctrines available today.
Because of Hawaii's remoteness, Huna stayed more pure; more like the original teachings. It is because of this, that Huna is considered by many to be the most direct link to the ancient wisdom. At one time it was outlawed and nearly lost forever, but now Huna is available to people of all races and religions. Many people find that they have an unexplained, yet fulfilling affinity to these teachings.
